An Open letter to Amanda Tapping.

To Amanda,

You may not read this, but I’ll post it anyway. Let me start this by saying a massive congratulations on your directing career, and the new opportunity in Budapest with the series. I for one can’t wait to see it, and I know many others who are waiting for this as well.

I honestly can’t believe the reactions from people I’ve seen online for you having to cancel OZ Comiccon for it. It saddens me to think that you feel you have to defend yourself against this; especially from people who claim to support you.

I know it’s disappointing for convention goers to hear about cancellations, I have one person in particular that I have been wanting to meet for years; with two opportunities missed. But I will never be annoyed at them for it. You (and others in this situation) have careers, and families. I understand, as does a lot of my friends, that you attend conventions when you can fit it in.

I’ve met you a couple of times now, and each time come away with such inspiration and motivation. I also see the happiness that you inspire in my friends when they meet you as well.

You are an amazing, wonderful, and generous person Amanda. Please don’t take the negative criticism to heart. The ones that truly want to see you at conventions understand.

I guess I’ll leave it at that. I’ve said my thoughts, and this is what I made this site for in the first place.

Have a great time in Budapest, and I hope the family is well. Hope to see you in OZ or NZ again soon.

Sincerely,

A fan who understands.
