Arrow Series Finale – Mini Review

<Spoilers for Arrow Series Finale>

Most likely just a quick one to review the series finale of Arrow…

On the lead up to the finale, and given what happened with Oliver in Crisis on Infinite Earths. I was a little concerned with how they would handle the finale of Arrow. It turned out that I shouldn’t have been worried at all. The finale tied up things quite nicely.

The newly shot scenes to serve as flashbacks but with new content to re-iterate the revised timeline of Earth Prime now that Crisis has past was very well done. You felt like you were watching actual flashbacks, but then something changed and it was a different scene entirely while still feeling like a flashback. Very impressed.

It was nice to see some of the actors\actresses return to finish their arcs. Especially with Colin Donnell returning for Olivers funeral which was extremely fitting. I saw some complaining about the original Laurel not being brought back, the same as what Earth 2 Laurel said. But I never had a problem with this. For the same reason as his father, he could only bring back people that didn’t change his character. Changing Laurel’s fate would have changed him from that point. So he couldn’t. That’s how I saw it (and I believe Tommy says something similar from memory).

The one thing I did see on twitter after the Arrow finale aired was hashtags along the lines of ‘they did Oliver dirty”. Or something about the way they treated his character and the scenes with Felicity (Emily Bett returning for the series finale)…
That really made no sense to me given the end. They literally gave him a happy ending, for all eternity with Felicity. Hence his statement about “having a long time to cover how he first saw Felicity”. So in all literal terms, they both got their happy ending. How was he “done wrong”? What do you see that wasn’t in the show? Please enlighten me if you saw something different. I’m all up for discussions.

Overall, I enjoyed the finale of Arrow and I’ll miss the show going forward. But at least we have the rest of the CW Arrowverse shows to continue with. The Arrowverse will live on and Arrow’s legacy will remain strong.

See I told you this would be a short one. Now I’m off to go rewatch an episode of Arrow before new Arrowverse shows air.

Enjoy and be kind to each other…
